Meta-tag: Great American Family star Candace Cameron Bure opened up about the last time she ate fast food, making us feel guilty.
To most people, fast food is a treat, but Great American Family star Candace Cameron Bure says she has “never” had Taco Bell or other treats. In fact, in the last 20 years, she has only eaten at one popular burger outlet.
Candace Cameron Bure on fast food
In a recent Instagram Story, Candace Cameron Bure announced that she hasn’t eaten fast food in 20 years. Bure, 47, said the only fast food she has had is from In-N-Out. In her story, Bure wrote that some days she wonders what a “burger and fries is like from McDonald’s or Burger King or Wendy’s or any of those other places” she has never eaten at.
The former Hallmark actress did confess that she does get hit with a craving for greasy meals but ultimately chose to stay committed to healthy eating choices, adding:
And no, I’ve never had Taco Bell or anything similar. I don’t regret it. You can’t convince me otherwise.
Meanwhile, one of her followers uncovered a photo of Bure enjoying takeout from Chick-fil-A with one of her kids in 2012. Speaking of her children, she shares daughter Natasha, 24, and sons Lev, 23, and Maksim, 21, with her husband, Valeri Bure. Meanwhile, in the since-deleted Instagram post, she had captioned it “We love chikin!”
One of her followers tweeted, “Perhaps Candace Cameron Bure shouldn’t say that she hasn’t eaten fast food in 20 years because that’s a blatant lie. She bought Chick Fil A in 2012.”
“@candacecbure this you?” another fan wrote about the photo in question.
Swiping through the comments on that post, it is clear fans were not in the least impressed while accusing the fast food outlet of supporting hate groups.
Full House star on maintaining a healthy lifestyle
Bure, who starred as a child in the sitcom Full House, is an advocate for a healthy lifestyle, regularly posting her workouts on social media. However, it hasn’t always been the case as she had an eating disorder in 1995 when Full House finally wrapped. Meanwhile, she opened up about this in her memoir Reshaping It All, admitting that she would binge and purge. Back in 2016, Candace told Entertainment Tonight:
I knew I had a problem, but again, it’s like being on a runaway train and you wanna get off but you don’t know how to get off. I kind of lost my identity in a sense, and what happened was I turned to food for comfort when my husband was traveling and when I was alone.
She added that she had a “very unhealthy relationship with food that turns into bulimia.
Controversy surrounding Candace Cameron Bure
Meanwhile, after leaving Hallmark, Bure sparked major controversy last year during an interview, by saying Great American Family, “will keep traditional marriage at the core.”
Many Hallmark actors slammed the Fuller House star, including Hilarie Burton, JoJo Siwa, former co-star Jodie Sweetin and more. However, this didn’t slow Bure down as she said she has “great love and affection for all people.”
