Candace Cameron Bure Talks Having An “Entrepreneurial Spirit” That Drives Her

Candace Cameron Bure is a boss through and through. How she manages to write 11 books, whilst juggling a successful acting career, launching a clothing line with QVC and partnering with Dr. Lancer Skincare and Christian gifts company DaySpring, is, we can all admit, remarkable. Add all that to being a wife and a mom and you wonder how she’s able to get it all done without her head literally running away.

Wonderfully, Bure shared the secret that lets her run a successful business and an even more successful personal life: she surrounds herself with good people. Even Bure, who started acting at a very young age, admits that no one can do it alone. P.S. she actually starred as D.J. Tanner on all 193 episodes of “Full House” and later, all 73 episodes of “Fuller House”. Hard work is a major word in the star’s dictionary, and she’s only getting better and better at being a businesswoman everyday.

Candace Cameron Bure – How It Started

Bure entered the movie industry at the tender age of six, gracing our screens every other day as the delightfully charming D.J. Tanner. After she got married to her husband, Valeri Bure, at the age of 20, she went on a 10-year hiatus in order to raise her three children.

When she re-entered the movie industry, Bill Abbott, the then-CEO and president of Hallmark Media, took a chance on her and signed her on to the network. Little did she know that she’d become the face of Hallmark Media, starring in more than 30 movies for the network, before leaving it this April.

Speaking on what she wanted her career to be and what she’s made it to be, she said: “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, even as a teenager. I knew that I loved the entertainment industry and I did love acting, but I always felt like I wanted more. I didn’t just want to be an actor, which is a great thing. I wanted more, so I was always positioning myself and trying to learn, as a young adult, what else I could do — the other aspects of the industry like producing or directing. I’ve loved watching people grow. I love seeing other entrepreneurs pursue their dreams.”

She continued: “I have this huge goal list in journals and I can look back so many years at things that I’ve wanted to do and accomplish and have prayed for for so many years. I never felt like there was a time limit on any of those things. So if it happened that year or that moment, great, but some of it’s taken me 25 years to get to and that’s okay, too. I hope I keep doing things when, in another 25, 30 years, I just can’t walk anymore.”

Candace Cameron Bure – Talks Being A Businesswoman And An Actor

During a recent chat with Variety, Bure owned that her first passion was acting and that she feels at home anytime she’s on set.

“I really do love acting,” Bure, 46, said. “It probably is my first passion. I miss being on a set. It’s been a little while since I’ve actually been filming something because my other businesses have taken a lot of my time and I’m gearing up for a new movie and I can’t wait to get back on set but I truly do love the business woman that I am. The set will probably always feel like my first home — I don’t think I could give up everything else to only be on set.”
