Celebrities Face Backlash For Exceeding Their Home Water Limits Amid Drought

Since the beginning of the year, there’s been an issue of water scarcity in the whole 58 states, but in Los Angeles, California it seems the case is more critical over there. Two months ago, in June, there was a new regulation that was brought on to help in the preservation of the minimal water available. Recently, it was revealed that a lot of celebrities have not been adhering to the rule of water management and fans are not having it.

Before we proceed, let me quickly say that an avenge person is estimated to consume a total of 3,000 gallons of water monthly except for cases of leakage, which could reach up to around 10,000 gallons of water.

Celebrities – That Exceeded Their Water Limit

It was revealed that the celebrities that exceeded their water usage limit were given “Notice of Exceedences.” Among the list of celebrities are the Kardashian sisters Kourtney and Kim Kardashian. It is said that the two have used a total of 300,000 gallons of water just this summer alone. Kim used a total of 230,000 gallons of water while Kourtney used a total of 101,000 gallons of water.

Kevin Hart is also among the listed celebrities, he used up a total of 117,000 gallons of water in the month of June. Next is Sylvester Stallone and his estranged wife Jennifer Flavin. It was reported that the couple used a total of 425,000 gallons of water. In the month of May, the couple used a total of 195,000 gallons of water, and in the month of June, the couple used the total of 230,000 gallons of water.

In their defense, Marty Singer who is the attorney for Sylvester Stallone said that the actor has a lot of trees in his home which needs to be watered daily for them to survive, if not, the trees would die so there was no way the couple would have stopped watering their trees. Marty said, “They have more than 500 mature trees on the property, including innumerable fruit trees as well as pine trees, absent adequate watering, in all likelihood they would die. That could result in dead or damaged trees falling on my client’s property or neighboring properties.”

Reactions From Fans After The Celebrities Were Revealed

Did I mention that Gabrielle Union’s husband Dwayne Wade is on the list? O.M.G, how could I forget? Dwayne Wade has the highest number when it comes to exceeding water usage limit. In May alone, Dwayne’s water usage has a total number of 489,000 gallons of water. Can you imagine? Then in June Dwayne came down to 90,000 gallons but it’s still wayyyyy above the limit.

When fans heard the list, they didn’t care that some of their favorites were mentioned in the list, hell broke loose, as some pointed out that had the Kardashians been running a cooking business it would at least explain the reason for the much usage but as it is, even the cooking businesses haven’t used up to the limit the Kardashians have used, both individually and combined.

A social media user angrily wrote on Twitter that “this is so sick that celebs are using up this much water…. and dont say well ‘what about the corporations’ i promise a food factory and kim k using the same amount of water is an issue,” and another seconded by saying on Reddit that “Didn’t you know? The rich are exempt. It’s only the poor people who have to live with and pay for climate change.”
