Céline Dion Makes Fantastic Return To the Stage At 2024 Paris OlympicsCeline Dion’s performance at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony was heartwarming for many reasons.

This year saw the superstar open up about her health challenges and her slow journey to recovery after being diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Stiff Person Syndrome.

According to her, the most painful part of her journey was the idea that she may never get to perform again if all doesn’t go right.

She also had to fight to get her voice back and described singing then as a painful experience. So it was with great pleasure that millions around the world watched Celine Dion perform live for the first time in a very long time.

Celine Dion – Sings In French To Round Up the 2024 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

The Paris 2024 opening ceremony was the first one to be held outside of a stadium, even though it drew stars such as Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

The four-hour event saw the torch bearer take fans through important historical moments in France, as well as display some of their most important assets, like Louis Vuitton and Illumination’s Minions.

As the ceremony began to round up, we were taken to the Eiffel Tower where Celine Dion – dazzling in a beautiful silver gown – performed a rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne A L’Amour.”
Dion has often stressed that her ultimate goal is to be able to get back onstage and perform for her fans.

“I was not ready for that ending,” said Kelly Clarkson, who was co-hosting the Opening Ceremony for NBC and Peacock. “If you know anything about Celine right now, she feels like this is her purpose. And if you know anything about what she’s going through right now … I’m so sorry, I’m trying to hold it together … but [the fact] that she got through that, that was incredible.”

This isn’t the first Olympics that Dion has made that much brighter with her beautiful performance, as she made her debut at the opening ceremony in Atlanta, Ga., in 1996.
