“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time,” Celine shared in her Instagram post. “And it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.” But despite the challenges, Dion added, “It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.”

The singer also revealed that her diagnosis came only recently. But Celine also noted that the knowledge of her condition finally explains her struggles with muscle spams. “Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people,” revealed Dion in her Instagram video.
“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is what has been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having,” added the singer. The Stiff Person Syndrome Foundation lists symptoms ranging from extreme anxiety to intense muscle spams. But Dion added that she has begun working with physicians.

As a result of her condition, Celine rescheduled her spring 2023 concerts to 2024. However, she cancelled eight of her summer 2023 shows. But Dion won’t stop performing. And she pointed out, “All I know is singing. It’s what I’ve done all my life. And it’s what I love to do the most.”
