Celine Dion Shares The One Thing She Regrets About Her Late Husband’s Death

Losing a loved one is not, has never been, and will never be an easy thing. It’s been six years since Celine Dion lost her husband René Angélil, till this day Celine Dion has never stopped loving nor has she stopped missing her late husband. Every year, Celine Dion pays tribute to her late husband, she spends time reminiscing on the love they shared. It’s a very understandable and easy to comprehend feeling.

Celine Dion – Speaks On Her One Regret With Late Husband

Speaking with ABC’s Deborah Roberts on Wednesday, October 13, Celine opened up that she has been nursing within her one regret since her husband’s demise in 2016, and the regret is that René didn’t die in her arms. She meant it literally because René died in his sleep, Celine wished so much that she was with him, holding him in her arms while he passed unto glory but, she feels that since he didn’t die in her arms, he died in her heart.

“The thing where I have a regret and I should not, is he did not die in my arms. But I think he died in my heart.” Celine has held unto that thought for several years but she shared that she has come to the realization that if she keeps thinking about him in that light she might never be able to heal, and for her to heal completely she has to let go of those thoughts “If I hold onto this I won’t move on. There’s a reason for things, I have to give myself a reason to go on.”

Three years ago, in 2019, Celine while having a conversation on Today Show revealed that prior to her husband’s passing, she got a message from René while she was on a show, the message arrived before the show began, little did she know that it would be the last message she would get from René. The message reads just three letter words “I Love You.” Celine said that when she returned from the show it was already so late and René was fast asleep so she didn’t want to wake him up and disturb his sleep.

“And when I came home that night, it was very, very late. And I didn’t want to come and wake him up to kiss him, to wake him up, and then he can’t find sleep again. And the next morning, he was gone.”

Celine Dion’s – Private Life Is Private

The “Power of Love” singer Celine Dion is not one to put her private life out to the public, very rarely does she engage in social media posts like joining clapbacks or dissing fellow celebrities, or even issue call outs, you won’t see her do that rather you’ll see her post pictures of herself and her three sons, or throwback picture of her late husband or about her next music tour, even, the last time we heard about her music show was way back in 2020 when she had to cancel all her tours because of her ill health.

The last time Celine Dion made a post on social media was on September 8, and the post was a tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II which read: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was such a graceful, elegant, woman of extraordinary kindness. She dedicated her life to public service, tirelessly helping others in need. She truly was an inspiration of strength and dignity for so many, and her loss will be deeply felt throughout the entire world… we will all miss her. My sincere condolences to The Royal Family and to everyone who loved and cherished her. Celine xx…”
