It’s nearly two years since he’s gone, Chadwick Boseman’s death still shakes the world.

Recently, there’s been reports that a settlement has been reached in the actor’s estate negotiations. That Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, will split it equally with Boseman’s parents, Leroy and Caroline Boseman.

According to Radar Online, court documents have been filed with details of how the estate will be divided – the total value is believed to be $2.3 million. Chadwick Boseman did not write a will before his death, and his wife was put in charge of managing Boseman’s financial affairs after his death.

It was in late August 2020 that the world was horrified to hear the news of Boseman’s death. When it was revealed that the Black Panther star had spent four years in treatment following a diagnosis of Stage III colon cancer in 2016.

The shock that came when the actor died at the age of 43 hasn’t left the film industry in the months since his first reveal, and there’s something of a celebration of his long-awaited big-screen legacy in the coming months with the release of Ryan Coogler Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in which co-star Danai Gurira described as “a very heartbreaking story” in honor of the late actor.

It has been firmly stated that T’Challa, the Boseman character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will not appear in the film, and producer Nate Moore has said the role will not be recast for future films. The blockbuster is set to arrive in theaters on November 11.

While undergoing chemotherapy, Boseman did what would prove to be one of the most phenomenal works of his career, becoming an icon with his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and delivering stellar performances in films such as Spike Lee Da 5 Bloods and George C. Wolfe Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (for which he earned a posthumous Oscar nomination).

Boseman featured in the movie “Gods of Egypt” as Thoth, God of wisdom, he starred in 21 Bridges, Avengers: Enders Game, Spiderman Homecoming, Infinity War, etc.

One of the many ways Chadwick Boseman’s contributions to the world continue to be celebrated; An undergraduate scholarship was funded in his name through a partnership between Netflix and Howard University (Boseman’s alma mater), and the College of Fine Arts at the same institution was renamed Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.

In a statement after Boseman’s death, Denzel Washington honored the actor, saying, “He was a gentle soul and a brilliant artist who will stay with us for eternity through his iconic performances over his short yet illustrious career. God bless Chadwick Boseman.”
