Chris Evans Finds Buzz Lightyear Role Similar To Captain AmericaHollywood news and updates tease that Chris Evans said that playing the role of Buzz Lightyear was like signing on to Captain America.

Chris Evans has been in several successful movies, but he rose to fame when he portrayed the role of Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, in a blockbuster hit movie, “The Avengers.” He also played the role of Hugh Ransom Drysdale in 2019’s “Knives Out” in which he was filled with memes on the internet because of the iconic knitted sweater he wore in one scene.

In one of his upcoming movies this year, the 41-year-old actor will star in another animated movie that was adapted from “Toy Story” and produced by Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures. He serves as the voice of Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut who explores outer space with his robot companion. According to Angus MacLane, the director of the movie, Evans “has the gravitas and that movie star quality” which is suitable for the character.

Chris Evans – Expresses His Love For Pixar Movies

In his latest interview with EW, Chris Evans stated his love for the Pixar movies and working with the production was “intimidating and daunting.” He also acknowledged the previous work of Tim Allen and hailed himself as a huge fan of “Toy Story.”

When asked about his role, the actor said that he was like signing on to the role of Captain America. “You have to understand there will be a lot of people who have an idea in their heads, but this is like when I signed on to Captain America. You know there is a baked-in-the-cake fanbase, but that fanbase is there because they have an understanding in their mind of what the character already is,” Evans stated.

Chris Evans – Shares Thoughts About The Movie’s Critics

The “Snowpiercer” star celebrated the production of his new movie for acknowledging different kinds of people in society. However, after “Lightyear” has been banned in over 14 countries, Chris Evans reacted and called the critics “idiots.”

“Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good,” he told Reuters Television.
“Lightyear” is now playing in theaters.
