The latest trailer for Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” has literally set the internet on fire with memes, and jokes, and speculations, and, wait for it, questions.

But perhaps the thing we should all be talking about is the trailer shot of the foot leaving a pink shoe, and Teigen has just called our attention to it. Now, let’s watch it a dozen times, dissect everything we can about it, and… move on with our lives, I guess?
Chrissy Teigen Wants A Documentary To Be Made Explaining the Iconic “Barbie” Shot of Foot Leaving Shoe
It may have lasted a few seconds, but it has left people like Teigen all worked up to know how that shot was pulled off. The television personality, model and author took to Twitter to share her perplexity with the rest of the world, and it was viewed more than 11 million times within the past 24 hours.
“I need to know everything about this shot. How many takes, if she held onto something, was she harnessed, is the landing mark sticky, are they her feet, who did the pedicure, really just a documentary on this shot,” Teigen said.
The scene in question happens in the opening trailer for the movie, which sees a close frame of Margot Robbie‘s “Barbie’s” feet as she walks into an all-pink room, wearing fluffy pink high heels. When the shoes come off, the feet stays in the same tip-toe position – just like the famous Mattel toys.

Teigen’s questions received a lot of answers from fans, who think they may know how the production company pulled it off.
“It’s AI,” one user guessed in the comments section of the post, which has been liked over 221,000 times. Another thought the leg could have belonged to a foot model who has been trained to pull it off, while others speculated a lot of shots were needed to pull it off.
While some sought the answer to the iconic shot, others had different questions of their own, including the reason why Barbie’s feet is larger than her shoes and why there seems to be a sixth toe.
