Christina Applegate – Shares Heartbreak Over MS
As a result of MS, Christina Applegate’s fans will see a very different actress when the third season of Dead To Me airs. And so the actress made the decision to share how she changed before the first episode. But Christina also emphasized her heartbreak over her condition, noted Page Six.
And Applegate described how MS impacted her appearance and ability to move. For instance, the actress experienced a 40-pound weight gain. And she also cannot walk unless she uses a cane.
“This is the first time anyone’s going to see me the way I am,” shared Christina about the upcoming final season of the show. And she admitted that she feels “very aware” of how much her life has changed. But the 50-year-old star expressed her frustration over the situation.
Christina Applegate Refuses To Accept How MS Changed Her Life
Looking at life before and after her MS diagnosis, Christina shared that she will not sit back and accept the differences. “I’m never going to accept this,” confessed the actress. “I’m pissed.”
And the Friends alum views herself as a work in progress. For instance, Applegate admitted that she struggled to “process the loss of [her] life” but still doesn’t feel total acceptance. However, Christina has shared her “new normal” on social media.
For instance, Applegate recently tweeted, “I have a very important ceremony coming up. This will be my first time out since diagnosed with MS. Walking sticks are now part of my new normal. Thank you @neowalksticks for these beauties. Stay tuned to see which ones make the cut for a week of stuff.”
And Christina first revealed her diagnosis on Twitter in August 2021. The Married With Children alum, who co-parents her 11-year-old daughter Sadie with husband Martyn LeNoble, called it “a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.”
However, at the time, Applegate requested privacy. But she did share an update on her 50th birthday. And she admitted that her struggle with MS had turned her milestone birthday year into a series of challenges. Applegate’s Dead to Me returns to Netflix on Nov. 17.
