Clint Eastwood – Tapped To Direct Legal Drama Surrounding A Murder Trial

Clint Eastwood, 92, is more popularly known for directing such works as “Unforgiven,” “Million Dollar Baby,” and “Bridges of Madison County” – that is, after he’s spent half of his life in front of the cameras as an actor. For his latest project, he will be directing a court room-type drama set at Warner Bros.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it took months for the team behind the project to conclude that Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette were the right combination of talents to take the lead in the movie, before recently making them an official offer.

The plot for “Juror No.2” will revolve around a murder trial and will follow a juror, to be played by Hoult, who, along the line, realizes that he may have been the cause of a victim’s death.

Following this discovery, he struggles with the need to tell the truth and be arrested for it or to manipulate the court and walk free. The prosecutor will be played by Toni Collette.

The most recent movie that the actor-director worked on was 2021’s “Cry Macho,” which was not very well received by movie lovers and only averaged minimal success, both locally and internationally.

It is said that the actor is looking to work on one more hit movie before hanging his hat as a director. He particularly wants it to make waves so that he could basically retire at his A-game. After looking at the materials floating around in Hollywood, he finally settled on the script by Jonathan Abrams.

t took a few rewrites to get it up to the quality Eastwood wanted – some of the characters’ ages were changed and a supporting role was created.

Since then, Eastwood has been shopping around for the perfect lead stars, with rumors saying he tried to recruit Charlize Theron for the project.

Eastwood will also be producing the film alongside Adam Goodman, the former production president of Paramount-turned-producer who now runs his banner, Dichotomy. Other names on the production include Tim Moore, Matt Skiena, and Jessica Meier.

The script has been floating around in Hollywood for the last fifteen years and was helped on by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell of The Gotham Group, who will be executive producing the project.
