Courteney Cox Revealed That Filming Had Been Completed
On Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cox spoke of the unscripted special filmed at the Warner Bros. sound stage where the sitcom originally taped.
She said, “It was unbelievable. It was so emotional. It’s an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time, all of us in, like, I forgot how many years. 15 years? 17 years?”

She also took a trip down memory lane recalling moments from the iconic show, telling Ellen, “I have the worst memory. Everything came up that I forgot about.”
Speaking of the opening credits of the show which features the main cast dancing together in a fountain, she recalled, “We were in that fountain for a long time. Somebody thought that would be really fun, and let me tell you what happens, it’s not fun to be dancing in a fountain for hours and hours, continuing, “I remember Matthew Perry saying at one point, and we didn’t know each other that well at that point, but I remember — and this was so Matthew — but he was like, ‘Can’t remember a time that I wasn’t in this fountain.”
Courteney Cox’s Co-Star And On-Screen Brother On The Show David Schwimmer
Cox’s Friends co-star, David Schwimmer, had previously opened up about how the unscripted special – starring Cox, Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, and Matthew Perry- which was meant to be filmed and released alongside the launch of HBO Max in May of last year, was being handled amid the pandemic.
During an interview in March, he said “Finally we figured out a way to film it safely and there’s gonna be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of safety protocols.”
No release date has been announced for the special yet.
