Daniel Radcliffe’s Supposed Twitter Suspension Got Fans All Riled Up

Daniel Radcliffe has joined the list of Elon Musk‘s suspended users. Let me begin by saying that this isn’t the Elon Musk we ordered for. Ever since Musk assumed office as the new owner of Twitter he has been making back-to-back changes to the platform. Mind you, these changes aren’t in the initial assurance when Musk first announced his interest to buy the social media platform.

Here’s the thing. Before Musk purchased the platform, Musk assured users that his reason for wanting to take over is not for monetary purposes, “This is not a way to make money…. Having a platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization. This is not about the economics at all.” Now, the reverse is every bit the case.

Since Musk took over, Twitter accounts are been suspended back to back and some celebrities even deactivated their account amid his takeover. I just want to lay this out first. Now, let me tell you how and what happened to our dear Daniel Radcliffe’s Twitter account.

Daniel Radcliffe — What Brought Radcliffe’s So-Called “Twitter Suspension”

All this started after Musk began laying out his plans for Twitter immediately after he assumed office. Upon his takeover, Musk, first of all, fired four top Twitter executives — including the chief executive and chief financial officer. Next, Musk announced that contents being put out on the platform by its users will now be moderated by his content moderation council.

While users were still grumbling over that, Musk inserted another change to the social platform’s algorithm by saying that users will get to pay for direct messages, and also, if your Twitter account is verified, verified users will have to pay a token of $20 monthly. The verification fee was later slashed to $8 monthly.

Also, Musk announced that users would also have to pay to view certain video contents on the app. Now, of all the new changes made by the world’s richest man Elon Musk, users of the platform were more pained by the monthly due allocated to verified users.

To show their disagreement with the changes, some users changed their Twitter profiles to appear like that of Musk’s, only that it’s fake. With their fake Musk profile, they made posts concerning the upcoming Twitter changes, thereby making it seem like Musk was taunting himself.

Musk found out about their impersonating profiles and announced on Sunday, Nov. 6, “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended.”

After Musk’s announcement, users calmed down a bit especially after finding out that some of them can no longer access their accounts. That was how Radcliffe’s fans found out that the actor’s account can’t be found.

Daniel Radcliffe — Fans’ Reaction To Radcliffe’s Account Being Suspended

First of all, Weird Al Yankovic made Radcliffe’s fans aware of Radcliffe’s missing Twitter account. Weird Al tweeted “Oh no, they suspended Daniel Radcliffe’s Twitter account! Wasn’t it obvious he was doing a PARODY???”

It took just that one tweet from Weird Al to get fans riled up. Comments like “Are you f kidding me? Daniel Radcliffe is suspended now? All my favs are getting suspended by a man who has disappointed more women than ‘Sex and the City 2,'” was seen under Weird Al’s post.

Now that I’ve narrated how it all started vs how it’s going, I believe it’s safe to now announce that Daniel Radcliffe never had a Twitter account. The Harry Potter actor has never owned a Twitter account let alone been suspended from it. Weird Al knew this, most of Radcliffe’s fans didn’t.

I believe that this fake announcement by Weird Al is a well calculated act to get fans’ interest in Radcliffe’s new movie in which the actor is playing Weird Al Yankovic.
