David Schwimmer Reveals He Once Served Rod Stewart Divorce Papers

David Schwimmer Reveals He Once Served Rod Stewart Divorce PapersDavid Schwimmer had an unexpected summer job that brought him into contact with music icon Rod Stewart before becoming famous as Ross Geller on the popular sitcom Friends.

The 58-year-old actor said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that his mother, a divorce lawyer, had arranged for him to work as a process server delivering divorce documents while he was a college student.

“I had so many odd jobs,” Schwimmer said. “One summer after my freshman year in college, I was looking for work, and my mum suggested I could be a process server for her. So, I was the guy who would pop out of bushes and serve you divorce papers.”

Recalling one memorable assignment, Schwimmer joked about feeling like a secret agent. “At 18, I thought, ‘I’m like James Bond.’ But no, I wasn’t. You get tips on where people might be, and that’s how I ended up serving Rod Stewart. Thank goodness I’ve never run into him since,” he added with a laugh.

Schwimmer didn’t disclose the details of Stewart’s divorce at the time, but the timeline aligns with the musician’s split from his first wife, Alana Stewart, in 1985.
