More On The True Story Of “Happy Face”

Happy Face comes from the true story of Melissa Moore, Jesperson’s daughter, whose life was profiled in the book “Shattered Silence”, her autobiography written with M. Bridget Cook.

The show also includes information from Moore’s true-crime podcast, Happy Face, from iHeartPodcasts. Actress, singer, dancer, and Broadway star Annaleigh Ashford will play Jesperson’s daughter, Moore.

Keith Hunter Jesperson claimed to have killed approximately 160 individuals in the ‘90s; however, only eight have been confirmed. He is currently serving a sentence at the Oregon State Penitentiary, of life without parole.

“Happy Face” Synopsis & Premiere Date Information

As per the Hollywood Reporter, Happy Face’s synopsis is as follows: the series uses Moore’s story as a catalyst to reveal how Melissa (Annaleigh Ashford) gravitates back into her dad’s world once again, despite being estranged from him for decades.

Happy Face/Jesperson (Dennis Quaid) is in jail for his crimes but finds an opening to force himself into his daughter’s life.

All the while, Melissa is on a mission to determine if an innocent man is going to suffer the death penalty for a crime her father committed, and during this process finds out the impact her dad’s crimes had on the families of his victims.

Sounds like an intriguing watch! As of this writing, there is no premiere date for Happy Face, so fans will have to stay tuned. Continue to visit CTS regularly for more celebrity news and updates.
