Dolly Parton – Wants You To Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Her Brownies

Looking for a different way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Dolly Parton hopes you’ll decide to turn to her new partnership with Duncan Hines. And that means enjoying her favorite baked delights. For instance, Parton and Duncan Hines just collaborated on biscuits, brownie, and cornbread mixes, she told Forbes.

When Dolly and the food company first teamed up, they created some southern cooking treats. And now they decided to go for the same theme. “We had to continue our southern line of cooking,” explained Parton. “Because we did such a good job, made such a sensation, when we put out our first stuff with my partnership with Duncan Hines. It seemed to be a match made in heaven.”

As a result of that match made in food heaven, the company and Dolly agreed to “add more of that good southern stuff.” And that led to her biscuits, brownie mix, and cornbread creations. “Well, it’s just always fun to talk about cooking. I think everybody has to eat, so everybody has to cook something, whether you’re a good cook or not,” said Parton about choosing Duncan Hines as a partner.

“Duncan Hines has always been famous for having great recipes on the back of the boxes, whatever the mix may be. So, if you’re not even a good cook, you can always do it on the back of all these things that you can buy off the shelves. Me myself, I’ve always been a good southern cook because I grew up in a big family with aunts and grandmas and my mom’s cooking, so I know how to do it without a box,” she added. “But it’s always great and handy to have somebody do it for you.”

Dolly Parton 0 Loves Her Life In her 70s

And for the country music queen, getting older just means getting better. “I’ll be 77 this year and those are my lucky numbers,” shared Dolly. “And I’ve got a lot of great things going, this partnership with Duncan Hines being one of them. I’m also dropping a song that I’ve written, so it thought ‘Well, this would be a fun time to do that.’ So, I’m doing that and then I’m going to be getting back in the studio, working on a rock & roll album.”

Because of her experience, Parton shared that she feels age truly doesn’t matter. “My life just gets better and better,” summed up the songstress. “I get older and older,” she added. “But I don’t feel it. I’ve been very blessed. And I’ve always wondered what life would be if I was successful with my work and how people would see me in my later years. And now I’m here and it’s nice to know that I seem to be still important in the world and I can still do some things to try to help make life a little bit better.”
