Dolly Parton Honors Naomi Judd And Loretta Lynn
The 2023 ACM Awards turned into a time for remembrance when Dolly Parton honored fellow country music stars and friends Naomi Judd and Loretta Lynn. Dolly gave an emotional a cappella performance at the 2023 ACM Awards, which she hosted with Garth Brooks.
And in honor of both Naomi and Loretta, Parton sang the hymn “Precious Memories.” Lynn and Judd both died in 2022, reported People.
But in addition to singing in honor of the late stars, the 77-year-old country music legend recalled her special memories of each. For instance, Dolly paid tribute to Lynn as “a hero and one of the most important, but still down-to-earth singer-songwriters in history.” And Parton remembered Naomi as sharing some similarities with her. But above all, Dolly noted the love between them.
“And of course Naomi and I, well, we’re the same age, both real G.O.A.Ts, Capricorns, and we loved big hair,” recalled Parton. “I still do. And we loved that makeup. But above all else, we loved each other.” And Garth Brooks praised Dolly’s tribute as “beautifully said. Tonight we lovingly remember all those we’ve lost in our country music family,” he added. “And we promise to do our best to keep the circle forever unbroken in their memory.” Lynn was 90 when she passed in October. However, Judd died by suicide in April 2022 at age 76.

Dolly Parton Brings Goat On Stage
But after mourning the loss of the two legends who had become her friends, Dolly lightened the mood. And Parton stunned with the premiere of her new single “World on Fire.” The country music star plans to include the single on her rock album.
Dolly also couldn’t resist including a NSFW joke about her co-host Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood. And after bringing a goat onto the stage to joke about the acronym G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time), she offered a new meaning. Her comments came after Garth teased that Dolly represented his “hall pass.”
And Parton responded, “I just had a thought. I know why you’re doing that G.O.A.T. thing!” she joked. “I think it stands for ‘Garth organized a threesome!'” But Brooks modestly admitted, “And I thought I couldn’t love you anymore!”
