Dolly Parton just proved to us once again that looks can be very much deceiving. So, most of us grew up thinking our dear legendary Dolly Parton has a very tiny voice and was born blonde. Mennn, I’m about to tell you that you’re in a bigggg surprise.

So, Dolly took to her social media account to do her normal routine of sharing some of her current or throwback pictures of herself. This time around, Dolly posted one of her throwbacks and captioned the post: “I know I’m not dumb, and I also know I’m not blonde!”

Okay, so, oftentimes Dolly Parton, 76, has been referred to as “dumb blonde” and Dolly has been defending herself and maintaining that she’s not dumb neither is she blonde, well, we never knew she has been speaking her truth all these while. I can bet that I’m not the only person who has always thought that Dolly’s golden voice that has always sounded like a whisper was all natural, and that Dolly was born blonde. Well, Dolly is saying to her fans all over the world, “sorry to shock you guys but, I’m not what I made you think and believe that I am.”

The news came as a complete shock to everyone that heard it because how could this possibly be true? Does that mean our childhood was a lie then? Because when I say Dolly has a golden voice, I mean her voice is first to none in the whole music industry, you could barely hear if she wasn’t on a mic because she always sounds so soft like a little adorable baby.

Dolly Parton — Reaction From Fans After Dolly’s Revelation

Just like me, fans were super shocked at the revelation, fans couldn’t believe that Dolly wasn’t born blonde, in fact, it was hard to believe and accept. A fan admitted to never seeing Dolly in any hair color that wasn’t golden, the fan also went on to say in a proverbial kind of way that no matter the color of Dolly’s hair, it wouldn’t change who Dolly is.

“Definitely had no idea either. Never seen her with anything but those golden tresses. But a Rose by any other Hair Color is still a Rose! I’m begging you Dolly! Don’t EVER decide to go with your natural color! That would be a huge shock to the system!”

According to Dolly, Dolly has always been dying her hair blonde for long before wigs came out, when she was sure that they’ve begun producing good wigs, Dolly began fixing them and according to Dolly, she has different kinds of blonde wigs for different occasions too.

“When wigs started coming out, when they were good enough that you could really fix them, I thought I’d been set free because I just thought, Well, I can have a hairdo of any kind anytime I want it. I’ve got a wig for every occasion.”
