Dolly Parton Wants No Part In An AI Hologram: ‘I Don’t Want To Leave My Soul Here On This Earth’

The iconic country musician Dolly Parton prefers not to live on in the hearts of her fans through the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology the same way some other legendary musicians like Whitney Houston, and ABBA did posthumously.

As a matter of fact, the “Jolene” singer is very certain that there will be different ways her legacy would be carried on after she’s gone but it doesn’t include holding virtual concerts for fans using holograms of herself. Anything but that, please.

Dolly Parton — Parton Said ‘When I’m Gone, I Want To Fly With It’

During a press conference in London last week, the ‘Coat Of Many Colours” singer had a chat with The Independent during which she was asked if she has any intention or if she has ever considered making a virtual version of herself that can be used posthumously as hologram performances

.To that, Parton replied, “I think I’ve left a great body of work behind.” She then truthfully added, “I don’t know how they’ll keep me around. I’ll have to decide on how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved in because I don’t want to leave my soul here on this Earth.”

“I think with some of that stuff, I feel like I’ll be grounded here forever, so when I’m gone, I want to fly with it,” continued Parton.

Despite not knowing how to keep her works alive even after death, the “Bobby’s Arms” singer is certain that, “With some of this stuff I’ll be grounded here forever… I’ll be around,” and “We’ll find ways to keep me here.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also played around with the hologram question and further made an interesting comment about everything about her including “any intelligence” is artificial anyways.

Dolly Parton — On Parton’s Upcoming Rock Album “Rockstar.”

The 77-year-old country music legend is currently trying out a new genre. She’ll soon be releasing her new Rock album titled “Rockstar” on November 17. Parton’s decision to produce Rock music comes after her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year 2022.

When it was announced that Parton would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, Parton said that her initial plan was to “respectfully bow out” because, according to her, “I didn’t want to take it because I didn’t think I had earned it. That’s the main reason I went ahead [with rock music].”

So, in order to be worthy of that accolade, Parton teamed up with rock legends like Surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr, to make the song.

She also collaborated with Journey’s Steve Perry, Sting, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, and Elton John. Other young singers like Parton’s goddaughter Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Pink, and Brandi Carlile also had the honor of working with Parton on the upcoming album.
