Dolly Parton’s Husband, Carl Dean, Passes Away At The Age 82

Dolly Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, passed away on Monday, March, 3. The news came directly from the singing legend, herself. He was 82 years old. 

Parton announced this on social media. The entertainer wrote in a post, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

She also stated that her husband would be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending.

Parton & Dean’s Love Story

The two met at a laundry mat when he was 21 and she was 18. They would marry in 1966. While her hubby wasn’t often seen by her side in the media, he played a supportive and strong role in Parton’s life and career.

In 2019, Dolly told PEOPLE, “He’s always supporting me as long as I don’t try to drag him in on it.”

Shea added, “He’s always been my biggest fan behind the scenes, but he’s at home. I don’t think they’re probably showing much of this on TV, and if they do, he might see it.”

The Key To A Successful Marriage

Parton revealed during a 2024 interview with E! News that the two just “enjoyed each other”.

She went on to say she likes to cook, and they often loved to do day dates in their little RV, travelling around, making picnics and going down the river; doing their “little things.”

Unfortunately, Parton recently suffered another loss of someone close to her. Her older brother, David Wilburn Parton passed away at the age of 82 in his Tennessee home.

He was one of the singer’s 11 siblings – their parents, Avie Lee Parton and Robert Parton had six girls and six boys in total.
