Dolly Parton’s Late Husband, Carl Dean – What Was The Cause Of Death?

Dolly Parton continues to mourn the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, March 3. The iconic singer, actress, and entrepreneur shared the sad news on all her social media channels the evening of his passing.

Since then, more information has surfaced surrounding the cause of his passing, and CTS has all the details, below.

Dolly Parton & Carl Dean’s Love Story

Parton and Dean met when they were 18 and 21 and had been married for close to 60 years before he passed. While they didn’t have children of their own, they did assist in raising some of Dolly’s younger siblings (she does have 11 of them in total!)

Dean often shied away from the spotlight that surrounded Parton, despite being one of her biggest fans and supporters.

On all of Parton’s social media handles, she posted a note that read, “Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie.”

Dolly shared personally on the post, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”

Carl Dean’s Cause Of Death

While an official cause of death for Carl Dean has yet to be revealed, as per Vocal, sources close to Parton and Dean have noted that the man had been fighting some health-related issues for a while now. As per The U.S. Sun, Parton’s husband had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019.

Reports have revealed that while Dolly remained busy, she scaled her work schedule during this time, due to her husband’s condition.
