Jolene did not succeed to take Parton’s man – not even in the remix with Beyoncé – and she sure as hell hasn’t succeeded in making Dolly Parton dislike the rich color of red forever.
Dolly Parton’s New Venture Has Convinced Her That There’s Nothing Wrong With the Color “Red”
Decked in jeans and gold, the country icon introduced her latest business venture. And in time for Valentine’s Day too!
But as you may know, the best wines have the naughtiest backstories, and you can bet this one does too. The beautifully red Pinot noir is coming to Dolly Wines soon and Parton wants you to try it out.
“For many years I have not liked the color red, because it reminds me of that woman who tried to take my husband,” Parton, 79, said in a video shared on her official Facebook page.
“Remember, ‘Jolene, Jolene, Jolene?’ ” Parton asked. “But my new Pinot noir has changed all that! I love red now. You should try it!”
And in case you’re wondering; yes, the wine is a sexy thing with a peacock blue wrapping that features golden butterflies.
Pinot Noir is arriving the same month that the ‘Jolene’ album was dropped in 1974. The single itself – released in October 1973 – is set to mark its 52nd anniversary later this year.
If you’ve listened to the track, you might recall that the hated Jolene whose “beauty is beyond compare” had “flaming locks of auburn hair.”
Dolly Parton Encourages Fans To Have A Toast To Her First Red Wine
In another announcement video shared on Instagram, Parton encouraged fans to stop scrolling just long enough to toast to her “new shooting star” Pinot Noir.
In a statement, Ming Alterman, marketing director of Accolade Wines, Americas, revealed, “We are incredibly proud to bring Dolly Wines’ Pinot Noir to the market.”
He continued: “This release is a true testament to the exceptional quality and passion of our winemaking team, working in close partnership with Parton Family Cellars.
With its vibrant character and exceptional craftsmanship, this Pinot Noir perfectly embodies the spirit of Dolly’s vision – a wine meant to be shared with those you love, celebrating life’s moments, both large and small.”
Let me just say that I love how Parton keeps winning at life in every age.
