We don’t know for sure, but Drew Barrymore‘s recent comments have gotten us hoping for an epic return. I mean, anything can happen. We finally got Avatar 2 didn’t we?
Drew Barrymore Says She Can’t Imagine Her “Charlie’s Angels” Co-stars Turning Down An Offer To Revise Their Iconic Roles
Drew Barrymore is far from saying no to the stunts and action associated with “Charlie’s Angels”. She may be 47, but she’s still ready to kick it, and she’s convinced that her trailblazing costars, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, will agree to board the plane should they ever be called to action again.
On Friday’s episode of the Drew’s News podcast, Benito Skinner asked the talkshow host if she’s ever considered getting back on set and having a third go at their epic movie.
“I just was watching Lucy, funny enough, who I was texting with this morning. And she was at Comic-Con for the new Shazam movie and they asked her, ‘Would you do a Charlie’s [Angels] 3?’ And I was on the edge of my seat,” Barrymore said.
“I would be surprised if any one of us ever decreed that we wouldn’t [do a third movie],” she added. “I would. I would in a heartbeat. The answer is an emphatic yes. I will always say yes.”
She also told Skinner that he “would be the best Bosley ever”, after he asked if starring with her in a hypothetical third installment wouldn’t be a “dream role”.
Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz And Lucy Liu’s – Friendship Through The Years
Over the years since they wrapped filming “Charlie’s Angels”, the three women have remained close.
When Extra caught up with Lucy Liu at San Diego Comic-Con in July, they asked her whether she’ll ever consider teaming up with her old costars to have another go at “Charlie’s Angels”. Her reply was brilliant, as she admitted that they’d already teamed up and become moms.
“It’s really nice that we’re all moms now since that time, and it’s just a different phase in our lives,” she added.
The “Charlie’s Angels” we all know and love was actually adapted from a television series of the same name. The show ran from 1976 to 1981. In 2000, the remake landed, starring three women that would go on to define the face of Hollywood.
The First Movie Was Followed In 2003 With “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”.
The leading actresses have continued to be close friends through the years. In September 2020, Barrymore launched her show “The Drew Barrymore Show” with the help of Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz, who were her very first guests.
“The thing that I love about our friendship is that we have been there in all the big and important moments, we’ve also been there in the small moments and the casual moments and the reason we are such good friends is because it’s real and we go through real stuff with each other. It’s not a Hollywood fairytale,” Barrymore said about their bond.
