Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi didn’t wait around for Donald Trump to get inaugurated in January, and they quickly left the country for the UK. Soon, a story arrived that during terrible weather in the Cotswolds, their mansion farmhouse in Oxfordshire had flooded. Now, she denied that happened.
Ellen DeGeneres Was Planning On Leaving?
The comedian who fell from grace for treating her staff badly lost a lot of supporters over the years. In fact, she claimed that her Netflix Tour would be her last show. In July, InTouch Weekly reported that the formerly popular talk show host contemplated retiring to Rwanda because people are nicer there.
Back in July, nobody knew who would win the elections in the USA, but it became a popular thing for celebrities to claim that they would leave if Donald Trump won. Perhaps Ellen DeGeneres jumped on that bandwagon. In any event, she ended up in the UK, and reportedly, her wonderful house was flooded. Notably, on social media, there was little sympathy for her.
Denial About House Flooding
Many reports arrived about the flooding of the new UK home set on 43 acres. Well, there were homes flooded, but the former entertainer denied that hers was one of them. TMZ reported that the news arrived via social media about Portia Di Rossi and Ellen’s 20th anniversary together.
The outlet cited Ellen DeGeneres as saying:
…for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood.
Later, the outlet shared the news on Instagram, and there, people were able to have their say.
Fallen Entertainers Get No Sympathy
It was Leonard Cohen who once sang about Americans having a “spiritual thirst.” Actually, many Americans tend to love, adore, worship, and elevate their celebrities to God-like status. But woe to those who fall off their pedestals, as Lori Loughlin discovered. So, it’s not surprising that Ellen Degeneres found almost no sympathy in the comments. Here are a few reactions:
- Anyone care?
- Diddy gonna come for you Ellen.
- Why would i care[?]
- If your house flooded and you say it didn’t flood is your own problem.
- Awww poor things, yeah YOU’LL LIVE.
- don’t come back lmaooo.
- I guess being flooded with water is better than being flooded with baby oil from the parties you used to attend.
Are you glad to hear that Ellen DeGeneres didn’t experience a bad flood in her Cotswold home in Oxfordshire in the UK? Or, don’t you really care? And if she had, she certainly has enough money in the bank to get over it. Do you agree there are bigger things to worry about in life?
