Elton John Rushed To Hospital After Falling At Home In France

The “Sacrifice” singer Elton John, 76, was hospitalized on Sunday at Princess Grace Hospital’s orthopedic center in Monaco after he fell at his villa in Nice, France.

Following his treatment, his rep released a statement sharing that Elton was discharged after undergoing checkups.

“We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the South of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure.

Following checkups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health,” said Elton’s rep.

Prior to the “Crocodile Rock” singer’s little accident over the weekend, Elton bid goodbye to his life on the road tour which began in September 2018 in Allentown, Pennsylvania ended in Stockholm, Sweden in July.

The tour was themed “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.”

After his last performance which he concluded by performing “Your Song” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” Elton told the audience, “I’ve had the most wonderful career, beyond belief.

Fifty-two years of pure joy playing music. How lucky am I to play music?”

He continued, “But, ya know, I wouldn’t be sitting here and talking to you if it wasn’t for you. You bought the singles, the albums, the CDs, the cassettes, but more importantly, you bought the tickets to the shows, and you know how I love to play live.”

Elton went on to thank his loyal fans who have stuck with him throughout the 52 years of his career, while adding, “Tonight has been magical. I’m trying to process it, and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring, I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me — it will stay with me forever.”

Elton John — Elton Wants To Focus On His Family

The “I’m Still Standing” crooner previously shared the main reason he ended his life on the road.

“Touring is exhausting for me now, and it takes me away from my family and my children,” but that doesn’t mean he also ruled out making music too.

The family Elton speaks of consists of his husband of nine years David Furnish and their sons, Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.

Back in 2016, Elton told Ellen during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “If you’d had said to me ten years ago I’d be sitting on your show married to the man I love and have two beautiful children I would have said, ‘You put acid in my drink.”

“But life throws you challenges and life throws you curveballs — great curveballs — and these two children have come along at a time I never thought I’d have children.

There’s no words to describe how much we love these boys. They’re just amazing.”
