Emily Ratajkowski Blasts Katy Perry’s Short Trip To Space With Blue Origin

Emily Ratajkowski Blasts Katy Perry's Short Trip To Space With Blue OriginEmily Ratajkowski is not having it. Here we are crying about climate change and a bunch of people with money are flying to space for an 11-minute journey.

If you know anything about how spacecrafts function, you’d know that hundreds of gallons of fuel was guzzled up for this little piece of adventure.

What happens to our beautiful Mother Earth when the fuel is burnt and exhumed as smoke? I bet you can guess. If this makes you angry, then that’s exactly how Ratajkowski feels.

Emily Ratajkowski Questions the Sensibility In Blue Origin’s All-female Spaceflight: “Beyond Parody”

In case you’ve actually been living under a rock – or at least emerging from the grips of a good book you just managed to finish – and have missed the news that blew all over the internet this week, let me catch you up to speed.

This week, our “Firework” Katy Perry joined an all-female crew, which includes Jeff Bezos’ fiancee Lauren Sanchez, 55, and TV anchor Gayle King, 70, for a trip outside of our lovely Earth.

These ladies took part in the flight courtesy of one multi-billionaire, Jeff Bezos, who you may more associate with founding Amazon.

There’s been a lot of reactions since Perry, 40, took flight and came back, but model Ratajkowski’s argument hit a lot of brilliant points.

“That space mission this morning. That’s end time s**t. This is beyond parody,” the 33-year-old model said in a social media video rant.

“Saying that you care about Mother Earth and it’s about Mother Earth and you’re going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s single handedly destroying the planet? Look at the state of the world and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space.”

“For what? What was the marketing there?” Ratajkowski questioned.

While Perry would like us to believe she partook in the trip to inspire her young daughter and other women, Ratajkowski is not buying it. She argued: “Having a man who has gained his power and become part of the one per cent purely through exploitation and greed, deciding to take his fiancée and a few other women to space for space tourism is not progress.”

It’s safe to say that the model and actress is sufficiently and literally “disgusted.” Her words, not mine.

While the “Roar” hitmaker may not have rushed to her own defense, Gayle did fire back at critics on behalf of her fellow female “astronauts,” saying, “Anybody criticising it doesn’t really understand what is happening here.”
