Eminem Soon To Become Grandpa, Rapper’s Daughter Reveals In Video

Grandfather is the newest title that Eminem is adopting. According to the 51-year-old hip-hop legend, Hailie Jade, his 28-year-old daughter, is expecting her first child.

The revelation was unveiled through the emotional music video of “Temporary,” a song in Eminem’s new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).

With a Detroit Lions jersey that says “Grandpa” on the back, Hailie, who was married earlier in May, surprised her father in the video.

Touching moments between Eminem and his daughter are shown to viewers as the video goes on, along with memories of their relationship through the years. The sonogram Hailie shows her father causes an obvious emotional stir in him, setting off an intense emotional sequence.

Shortly after the video’s release, Hailie took to Instagram to confirm the pregnancy, posting a picture alongside her husband, Evan McClintock, and captioning it, “Mom & dad est. 2025.”

The couple, who met in 2016 at Michigan State University, celebrated their wedding earlier this year in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.

Reflecting on her marriage, Hailie shared, “Waking up a wife this week. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt. Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that travelled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife.”

The music video pays homage to Eminem’s bond with his daughter and has impacted fans all around the world. A variety of sentimental clips were featured, such as clips from Hailie’s wedding day and home videos from 1999.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has frequently referenced Hailie in his music over the years. From fan favorites like “Mockingbird” to the heartfelt “Hailie’s Song,” the artist has always made it clear that his daughter holds a special place in his life.

In “Mockingbird,” Eminem famously tells Hailie to “Straighten up, little soldier,” a line he revisits in the new track “Temporary.”

Eminem’s album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) addresses questions of family and heritage. Apart from “Temporary,” the album also included the song “Somebody Save Me,” which is an apology to his children for all the hardships they have had due to his fame and personal problems.
