Felicity Huffman Gets Starring Role In ABC Comedy Following Her Prison Stint

Felicity Huffman celebrity spoilers show that the Emmy Award-winning actress is going from the big house to the small screen. According to Deadline, the former Desperate Housewives actress will appear in an upcoming ABC comedy series.

Huffman was one of many rich and famous folk, including fellow felon Laurie Loughlin, aka Aunt Becky, who got caught paying a con man in exchange for getting their GPA-challenged kids into USC.

Apparently skirting the law and doing the time for her crime has not ruined Huffman’s chances for a career comeback.

Felicity Huffman Didn’t Think Her Kids Were Smart Enough

Huffman’s sketchy bid to bribe her kids’ way into college was revealed when the now infamous college admissions scandal hit the headlines. Huffman’s hubris netted her a 14-day sentence in prison at FCI Dublin, aka Club Fed, of which she served a whopping 11 days. Now that she’s out of prison stripes, TPTB have nabbed her for a primetime role in what is being billed as a comedy—one that’s fun for the entire family?

According to Deadline, Huffman was signed on to star in an upcoming ABC series that is inspired by the life of Susan Savage who is the owner of the Sacramento River Cats, a Triple-A baseball franchise.

The series reportedly does not have a working title at this time and also starring in the project is Zack Gottsagen of The Peanut Butter Falcon. Huffman’s character must step into the role as majority owner of the River Cats following the death of her husband in 2009.

Gottsagen plays the couple’s son, a baseball fan with Down syndrome. The actual Sacramento River Cats won the Triple-A national championship in 2019 and is minor-league baseball’s most valuable franchise, estimated to be worth $49 million.

Huffman was sentenced to “Club Fed” after she pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud; she was released in October 2019. The actress was also given one year of probation, ordered to perform 250 hours of community service, and pay a $30,000 fine.

She is married to actor William H. Macy and the couple shares two daughters. Huffman confessed to paying an “admissions consultant” $15,000 to have someone falsify her older daughter’s SAT answers so she could gain entrance to the prestigious college.
