You’d think the Kanye West x Adidas controversy would end when Adidas cut ties with him over his anti-Semitic rant, but guess again.
A lot has been said about the rapper, who now prefers to be known simply as “Ye”, following his latest string of controversial statements, including one where he claimed that George Floyd died of drug abuse.
This time, former Adidas employees wrote a letter asking the company to launch an investigation into Kanye West’s alleged abusive behavior towards their staff. They say the investigation should turn up West’s sexually provocative descriptions and angry rantings at workers.
Kanye West – Accused Of Playing “Mind Games” With Adidas Workers
In a piece by Rolling Stone, several of Adidas’s former staff came forward to accuse the “Donda” rapper of abusing several of them while he still managed the “Yeezy” branch of the company.
Even though it’s been a month since the clothing and sportswear company cut ties with Kanye West, people are still demanding for further investigation into West’s inappropriate behavior, which Adidas reportedly turned a blind eye towards.
On Tuesday, November 22, Rolling Stone published excerpts of the letter and the claims made by some of the former staff members.
They accused the rapper, 45, of being obsessed with porn to an unhealthy degree and that he would, without asking for anyone’s consent, show it to them.
Apart from showing graphic images and videos, the report also states that West has on many occasions showed them intimate photos and videos of his then-wife Kim Kardashian.
Neither West nor Kim Kardashian have responded to this latest report.
Adidas Tolerated Kanye West’s Unhealthy Behavior Towards Workers, Letter Claims
In addition to his references to porn and his odd way of sharing it with others, he was also accused of belittling and bullying staffers.
“He has, in years past, exploded at women in the room with offensive remarks, and would resort to sexually disturbing references when providing design feedback,” the letter read, according to Rolling Stone. “This type of response from a brand partner is one that Adidas employees should never be subjected to, nor should Adidas leadership ever tolerate.”
The letter is titled “The Truth About Yeezy: A Call to Action for Adidas Leadership.” It also touches on the “responsibility, accountability, and protection that Adidas failed to provide their employees throughout what we experienced as years of verbal abuse, vulgar tirades, and bullying attacks.”
