The Britney Spears conservatorship was a big story, and the “Free Britney” campaign celebrated their success. However, some critics think they were wrong. Read on to find out why.

That Latest Newsworthy Behavior

TMZ recently reported an incident involving Britney on a private flight from “Cabo San Lucas”  to Los Angeles. According to their sources, which included a video, Spears allegedly began drinking on the plane and then “lit a cigarette,” which violated aviation rules.

Flight attendants reportedly instructed her to put the cigarette out, “which she did,” but her behavior was described as “difficult.” After the privately hired jet landed at LAX, authorities reportedly met her and issued a warning, though she was allowed to leave. Naturally, the incident once again made people question the singer’s mental health.

The Response By Britney

Later, the outlet reported that Britney Spears responded to the news. Unfortunately, the Instagram post that claimed she broke her “silence” on the incident redirects to a story that doesn’t mention her personal response. However, they did share a screenshot of her statement on the post.

In it, Britney Spears said that someone else gave her the smoke after she drank “vodka.”  She added in part:

It’s actually incredibly funny!!! Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat!!! And said I want a cigarette so bad !!! My friend put it in my mouth and lit it up for me …The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette!!! And embarrass me…Oh well you guys like my flower choker?

The article did mention that a source claimed, “The judge went so Hollywood, ignoring all of the medical reports in front of her and just bent to the Free Britney people outside the courthouse.” In the comments section, lots of people agreed that the campaigners got it wrong.

The Campaign Was Wrong?

One reader said, “Long story short, she didn’t get in trouble so she thinks it’s so funny.” But others discussed the conservatorship. Another person opined, “Omg unFree britney.” Here are some like-minded responses from the discussion:

  • This is on all of the “Free Britney” people. There was a reason she needed a conservatorship.
  • Saddest thing ever. This young lady needs help. Heartbreaking.
  • Awww she needs help again.
  • She is so unhinged. It’s sad. I almost feel bad for her. But she’s a grown woman. You can’t gelp someone who doesn’t want to be helped.
