It’s been seven months since the 51-year-old Friends star proposed to his girlfriend, 29-year-old literary manager Molly Hurwitz. The two first became romantically involved in 2018 and went public with their relationship in December 2019, when they were first spotted at a restaurant in West Hollywood. The two reportedly spent Christmas together that year.

In November 2020, Perry asked the big question and got a positive answer from his then-girlfriend of two years. It was a very happy moment for the star when he told People that he’s engaged to the “greatest woman” on Earth.

“I decided to get engaged,” he announced at the time. “Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”

The actor and comedian, who has never been married, has dated some interesting women in the past, one of the Hollywood Icon Julia Roberts. One of his more serious relationships was with Castle Rock actress Lizzy Caplan and lasted from 2006 to 2012.

“Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them,” Perry told E! News in a statement. “I wish Molly the best.”

Matthew Perry Reunites With His Friends Co-Stars: “It’s Like Magic”

The breakup is coming a few weeks after Matthew Perry reunited with his Friends co-stars for a special reunion episode that’s now available on HBO Max. Matthew Perry, along with Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc, executive produced the reunion special alongside the show’s creators. It was filmed on the popular sitcom’s original soundstage in Burbank, California.

This may only be the second time that these iconic six friends came back together after their show ended nearly two decades ago in 2004, but according to LeBlanc, 53, their chemistry allows them to “pick up right where we left off.”

Perry, as well as his former Friends co-stars, reminisced about their time making the movie, with Perry even getting emotional along the way, and oh, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer definitely blew our minds with their little revelation.

Through the years, the Friends alum has battled with substance abuse and has sought treatment for it. After his appearance on the reunion prompted fans to ask questions, Ben Winston, who directed the show, told The Hollywood Reporter’s TV’s Top Five podcast that he doubts the star was currently dealing with any health problems.

“People can sometimes just be unkind,” Ben shared during the May 24 podcast. “I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him. He’s a brilliantly funny man, and I thought he had some great one-liners in the show.”
