Lisa Kudrow shared her discovery regarding her auditions as Phoebe Buffay on the sitcom “Friends.” “Friends” is one of the most beloved American sitcoms that even if it ended 18 years ago, a lot of people today still stream it on different online platforms. It was all about six people, played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry, who lived together in an apartment in New York and were constantly there for each other, especially during life crises.
Last May 2021, the iconic characters reunited for an HBO special titled “Friends: The Reunion,” where they talked about their experiences and their favorite memories when they filmed the ten-year series.
Lisa Kudrow – Shares Her Audition Process on ‘Friends’
In her recent interview on the Today show, the 58-year-old star shared her early experiences as an actress. She also mentioned the unpleasant moment she faced when she auditioned for “The Landers Show” in the 1990s.
Other than that, Kudrow revealed that she’s the only cast who has to audition twice for a role in the iconic sitcom. “I didn’t even realize until recently that I had a special audition for Jim Burrows because he was directing it, and I assumed all actors did,” Kudrow said.
“Then, I found out – like, I don’t know, four years ago – I was the only one. I found out that I was the only one who had to audition for him,” she continued.

Lisa Kudrow’s – Son Julian Stern Watches ‘Friends’
During her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the “Space Force” star talked about her son and shared that he finally took some time watching “Friends.” Kudrow revealed that she was touched when her son liked the show as she thought that her family felt otherwise.
However, when Julian Stern mentioned that the guys in the show were funny, Lisa Kudrow jokingly got offended as she wanted her character, Phoebe Buffay, to be the funniest. “He’s like, ‘No, I mean, you’re funny too,’ and never in my life have I wanted to tell my own kid, ‘F***k you,’” she hilariously told the host Seth Meyers.
Lisa Kudrow is currently producing her NBC series “Who Do You Think You Are?” which is all about celebrities who take an emotional journey to trace their family tree.
