Game Of Thrones Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau To Star And Produce New TV Show

Game Of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be starring in a series adaptation of Christina Clancy’s “The Second Home” novel in 2020, Variety reported. He is also the executive producer of the show.

This will be Coster-Waldau’s first reappearance on screen since his last role on HBO’s GOT series in 2019.

Although it has been confirmed that no network or writer is attached to the series at the moment, Coster-Waldau together with Joe Derrick and Jeffrey Chassen will be executive producers as Ill Kippers Productions.

The star is famously known as the member of the Kingsguard, Jamie Lannister on GOT.

His iconic character met a tragic and romantic demise in GOT’s series finale. The Kingslayer’s loyalty to his family was questioned when he abandoned the noble Brienne of Tarth to prioritize family and incestuous relationship with his sister. Jaime went along with his doomed sister while King’s Landing came under attack from Daenerys Targaryen. Jaime died in the arms of his lifelong love and twin sister, Cersei Lannister.

A Mara-“Throne” For A Cause

HBO announced its month-long celebration of GOT’s decade with its Iron Anniversary as the series aired its first episode this same month 10 years ago.

To commemorate a decade of the series, a GOT Spotlight Page is now available highlighting fan-favorite episodes, behind-the-scenes clips, and extended versions of “The Cast Remembers” interview series.

HBO also challenges fans to re-watch the entire GOT series for a cause that will air back-to-back episodes starting on April 10, Saturday. The “Game of Thrones MaraThrone” is supported by GOT stars to help raise funds for charities they support, namely Women for Women International, The Trevor Project, Conservation International, International Rescue Committee, UNICEF, FilmAid International, World Central Kitchen, National Urban League, SameYou and Royal Mencap Society.

A Family Drama

Sony’s TriStar Television is currently working on “The Second Home” adaptation. This novel will show the Gordon and Shaw families following a fateful summer on Cape Cod. It will tackle how harboring a devastating secret will change your life forever by derailing young love and tearing families apart.

Years later, the siblings of one family reunite to discuss the fate of an old family beach house that has been in the family for generations. It will tackle the family and reconciliation if they can mend family relationships, and the beach house will be the glue that will hold them together.

Coster-Waldau’s role and other information haven’t been revealed yet.
