George Clooney Talks About His Age Difference With Wife Amal Clooney

George Clooney, popularly known back in the days as one of Hollywood’s most notorious bachelors, finally found his missing rib, the bone of his bones, and the flesh of his flesh in Amal, they tied the knot eight years ago and since then, the couple have been living in harmony despite the wide age difference between them. George married his wife when he was 53, and Amal was 36. The couple has been the talk of every gossip mill since their marriage especially because of the 17-year gap they have between them.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12 the actor gave us a sneak peek on what it’s like in his marriage to his wife Amal Clooney.

George Clooney — George And Amal Never Argue

That’s right guys, one would think that with the huge age difference between the couple that there would always be conflict of interest between them, that they would constantly argue about everything, for example, Amal might want something to be done a certain way and George being the much older one would want it to be done a different way, when they both don’t agree to disagree they would keep arguing. Well, George is saying that’s not the case in his marriage.

Speaking exclusively to E!’s Francesca Amiker, George maintained that he and his wife have never argued on anything rather they agree on most things, George credited that to the fact that he married so late, according to George his late marriage made him mature enough to stress on things. He sighted an example of when Amal wanted to have the wall of their house painted yellow, George explained that a younger version of himself would immediately dive into arguments on why the wall should be painted yellow instead of a different color but, this mature man he is didn’t see the need for the argument, George said, “…and if I was younger, I feel like that’s a stupid color. And now you just go, ‘I don’t care. Who cares if a wall’s yellow?'”

George also said that, the fact that it seems like they got it all figured out in their marriage doesn’t mean he would go about dishing out marriage advice to aspiring couples, he said that he started his marriage journey so late therefore I’m not allowed to give advice to anyone, I have to look at it as if I’m the luckiest human being alive and then just appreciate that.”

Having starred in lots of movies like Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” “Money Monster” etc., it has always been a thing of mystery as to what kept the two from dating each other, in their latest interview they had with Access Hollywood with Kit Hoover as the host which was released on Wednesday, George and Julia shared the reason why they both never got to date each other.

Kit began by asking the lighter and simpler questions before delving into the thicker ones, she began by asking them what their first impressions were towards one another, to which they both replied, a comfortable zone was established before Kit asked, “Did you ever have a no-dating policy back in the day… Years and years ago before you were ever in a relationship?” That question was answered by Julia and she said, “To not date each other? I don’t think we needed to state it!”

Explaining further George said, “Julia was always in a relationship, or I was in a relationship. And we were fast friends right away. So it was nothing, but it’s been nothing but fun for us. So, I don’t think that was ever really a thing.”
