Gigi Hadid Said She Has “Imposter Syndrome” After Launching Her Fashion Brand

In a nutshell, celebrities are human beings like us. Who would have thought that Gigi Hadid would or is capable of suffering imposter syndrome? I won’t ask that question because, just like I said, celebrities are human beings like us. They were first human beings before becoming celebrities.

Gigi Hadid, who launched her fashion brand “Guest In Residence” September last month, revealed to Vogue on Friday, Oct. 14 that she has “Imposter Syndrome all the time”. Shocking right? Well, she said that. I know it’s arguable because we all know her as the supermodel who hit it off the moment her Cashmere brand was launched, and she is always busy and fully booked all the time, how can she have imposter syndrome? This goes without saying that it’s not always as easy as it appears.

Speaking About Her Brand And Why Gigi Hadid Ventured Into Cashmere

Gigi who shares her 2-year-old daughter Kai with her ex Zayn Malik, while speaking with Vogue’s fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson revealed that she was inspired to go into fashion while she was still pregnant with her daughter, she said that being pregnant with her daughter made her realize that she wouldn’t be a model forever, being a creative person she is, it was easy to navigate into fashion as she has always loved fashion.

Gigi also said that before she started her brand she has always had cashmere in her mind, “I was creative and that is where I saw my life going. I already had been thinking about cashmere, but I think [pregnancy] just made me think about how much more settled I would feel to have an office space job. I can take my daughter there with me.”

Gigi went on to tell Gabriella that the line of fashion she chose was one that’s very high therefore it is a very challenging job for her, she didn’t want to go into the regular kind of fashion that is popular out there, she wanted her to be unique and different in a rare kind of way, she also said she didn’t want to put just anything out there, she was very intentional at the line she ventured into, “I thought that it was … not necessarily obvious, but expected for me to come out with something that was more a fast-fashion type situation, it just felt like the right material that I could play with in a lot of different ways that was true to me, true to my style.”

Earlier this month, Gigi made headlines when she engaged in a back-to-back sub post against Kanye West for attacking Vogue’s fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson for speaking her mind on what she thinks of Kanye’s White Life Matters t-shirt which Kanye unveiled at his Yeezy season 9 fashion.

Gigi, in the bid to defend Gabriella from Kanye’s insults, tagged Kanye a “bully and a joke.” The supermodel went on to diss Kanye inside one of the diss posts Kanye made for Gabriella, “You wish u had a percentage of her intellect, you have no idea haha…. If there’s actually a point to any of your s–t. She might be the only person that could save u. As if the ‘honor’ of being invited to your show should keep someone from giving their opinion? Lol.”

Gigi then went and made a special post on her Instagram to appreciate the editor and throw some more diss at Kanye, she wrote: “one of the most important voices in our industry.” Gigi added that the editor “could school that disgraceful man in more ways than he knows.”
