Ginger Zee is not without critics, but any thought of trolling her after her news about a scary flight seemed to evaporate. On social media, the meteorologist for Good Morning America (GMA) found sympathy after she assured fans a post was not an April Fool’s Day joke.

The Scary Incident Aboard A Plane

On April Fool’s Day, Jinger took to her Instagram profile page and shared a few photos of her day on a plane. The first one revealed fire trucks driving up to her flight.

Another photo shared by the GMA weather expert showed some of the fire crew checking out the airplane on the runway.

A third photo showed the view from the airplane as it approached the airport for landing. Bravely, Ginger Zee kept her camera pointing out the window during a scary time.

In the caption, Ginger explained:

Not an April fool’s joke… our plane took off from LGA but just turned around and had an emergency landing at JFK because of a hydraulics system failure. Fire trucks all around but thankfully just precaution. Many thanks to these heroes who are always ready.

Understandably, the GMA star felt very “grateful” to finally land safely.

Fans Respond In The Comments

America had some scary incidents with planes in 2025, and people are a bit worried. That’s why they told American Idol judge Katy Perry to sit down when she announced her trip to space in Jeff Bezos’ rocket this April. They expressed some shock in the comments of Dancing With the Stars contestant Ginger’s post, as well.

One follower told the weather personality, “Oh, I’m so glad you guys are ok! Yea to the emergency personnel!”

More comments followed. Here are a few of them:

  • Glad you are all safe, your crew did a great job of keeping everyone safe.
  • Oh my terrifying glad you’re safe.
  • Scary stuff even if it is just precautionary. Stay safe Ginger.
  • Glad you and everyone on the plane are safe on the ground.
  • That is scary. There is too many things going wrong with planes these days! Glad you’re safe.

In Other News

Fortunately, Ginger Zee landed safely and presumably recommenced her journey to a safe landing at her final destination.

In January, Ginger enjoyed a vacation by the beach with her family. At the time, she said that they loved the warm weather but wished she could stay in the Bay area for longer because her forecast was for a lot of cold weather back home.

Fortunately, this time, it seemed that she wasn’t traveling with her immediate family as she tagged Dan Manzo, another weather expert from the TV channel.
