Gordon Ramsay has always wanted to be a father of 6. The idea of having a total of 6 children was first pitched to his then-girlfriend Tana before he went down on one knee to ask the big question.

The world famous chef shared how it has always been a “dream” to have six kids and how he feels about it coming to pass.

Before the arrival of baby No. 6, in November 2023, Gordon and Tana were proud parents to kids daughter Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 24, daughter Matilda “Tilly,” 22, and son Oscar, 4. Their latest issue Jesse James is currently 3-month-old.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight‘s” Cassie DiLaura, Gordon recalled how he shared the idea with Tana while fumbling down in the Florida Keys. “That was the dream. That was the dream we first set out. I proposed to Tana down in the Florida Keys …” Said the “Hell’s Kitchen” star.

He also took the story further to how he thought he lost his engagement ring after bending one knee. ” I was fumbling around, ’cause I dropped the fricking ring. And so, I’m like, ‘Is something biting your feet?’ … the ring, I had lost the ring. So, I had to get down on my knees. She’s like, ‘Oh my god. Oh, my god’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, now, wait a minute. I’ve lost the f***ing ring.’ So, it’s not that, ‘Oh my god moment’ ’cause I’m like s****ing myself. I dug deeper. I found the ring, and then proposed. But I ballsed that up. But it’s worked, by the way.”

The star of “Kitchen Nightmare” shared that, his work schedule is very thight as it is, and combining it with parenting is super hectic. He pointed out that he gets the worst of it during the holidays when both work and home is super busy that he rarely catches a break.

“No, you’re absolutely right, and also, honestly, the holidays is the worst time for any chef because we go to the restaurant it’s super busy,” he says. “You go back home. It’s super busy. And the Ramsay household is like running a restaurant where no one goes home. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. ‘Dad, can we have that prime rib tonight?’ We just finished lunch! Can you give me a minute?!’ You’re never off, honestly.”

Speaking about being a new daddy at 57, Gordon said it feels, “Extraordinary. Really Extraordinary, just blessed. I’m also sure I’ll be the oldest dad at the drop-off at school, so I’ll keep my cap and glasses on.” He also said Jesse’s birth is where he puts a full stop, “Yeah, number six. No more,” he said. “I’m gonna be called granddaddy at sports day.”

However, one of his children has something else in mind as he revealed during a recent interview with “PEOPLE” that Oscar pitched for a seventh sibling. “This morning, Oscar said, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if Jesse and I had a little sister?’ And I spat my Cheerios out. So yeah, I had to get up from the table and walk away. I didn’t wait to see Tana’s reaction. I literally coughed my Cheerios out all over the table. So yeah, listen, who knows, right?”
