Great American Family Star Trevor Donovan Films New Movie ‘It’s You’

Fans of former Hallmark star, and current Great American Family actor, Trevor Donovan, have something to look forward to. In fact, he is currently filming a new movie, titled It’s You. Moreover, the movie’s subject is one that is popular these days, as it will be a time travel-related comedy. News of Trevor Donovan’s new movie came from his official website, where the actor is “retiming with writer/director Larry Rippenkroeger.” Moreover, Rippenkroeger previously directed Trevor’s movie, Hot Water. Now, the pair are teaming up for a time travel comedy movie. The synopsis for the film is as follows:

It’s You is described as a fish out of water comedy where Donovan will play an animal chiropractor who is injured in a freak accident and awakens on an Indian reservation in 1881. Once the reality sinks in, Donovan’s character attempts to earn the respect of the tribe members, most notably the chief’s attractive daughter, resulting in hilarity along the way.

The upcoming movie It’s You will feature a predominantly Native American cast and it will primarily be filmed on tribal lands.

According to Rippenkroeger, the movie was written specifically for Donovan. He said that Trevor “has a deep love for animals and a unique sense of humor that audiences have yet to fully experience.”

While there have been a number of time travel movies on the feel-good channels, this particular story is something fans of his romantic comedies haven’t seen before.

Who else is working on the new movie?

Trevor Donovan will be working with stuntman Tad Griffith, who will lead the way in the action and stunts in the movie. While the rest of the cast will be predominantly native, so far there is no news of who will star along with the former Hallmark hunk.

Moreover, the movie comes from Donovan’s UglyMugg Productions with his collaborator, Michael Yanni producing.

Where will ‘It’s You’ premiere?

While Donovan has already jumped ship from Hallmark Channel to Great American Family, it is currently unknown where it will air. It certainly seems like it could be an acquisition, made for networks like Great American Family, Hallmark Channel or UPtv. However, alternatively, the movie could become a major motion picture.
