Blake Shelton is working this New Year’s Eve and so is Gwen Stefani. Just last week, Shelton, 45, told Entertainment Tonight about his New Year’s Eve plans, or lack thereof. “If we’re at home during New Year’s Eve, we’re probably going to bed before it even happens,” he said. The thing is they’re both not going to be home, so there will be no snuggling before we ring in the New Year.

When Vegas calls, you’ve got no choice but to answer, even if you’ve promised to stop answering its calls. At least you’ve got to if you’re Gwen Stefani.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Gwen, 54, revealed the reason she won’t be spending her New Year’s Eve rocking out to her husband’s music, and no, it’s not because they’re having marital issues as some fans predict.

“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” she said.

Shelton is booked to perform at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, whereas Gwen’s gig will take her all the way to the other side of the country.

“Last year I did Vegas and I was like, ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again.’ [But] you sometimes want to… not be the host. So I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it.’ If you’re gonna be working then I’m gonna be working — so I’m just gonna fly in and out it’s gonna be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it,” she said.

For a second, fans had me worried with their theories that the couple are facing some challenging times in their marriage. “These 2 do not belong together!! It’s my opinion!!!!” one fan wrote on a post where she built a fire and cooked pizza together with Shelton on their Oklahoma ranch.

“Seems like she’s adapted more to his lifestyle than him to hers. I don’t know,” one fan wrote, while another agreed, “She used to be the glam girl. Now she’s all country.”

If you ask me, Stefani is rocking her country girl era, regardless of what anyone thinks.
