Most fans assumed Gwen Stefani was the reason behind No Doubt’s breakup. She revealed that she “pushed hard” for the band to reunite. They’re getting back together for Coachella. Keep on reading to learn more.
The Band Is Back Together
In January 2024, it was announced that No Doubt is back together. They’re reuniting at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which runs from April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21.
Just years before news of the lineup came out, Gwen Stefani met with her bandmates on FaceTime and asked whether they should get back together. They were on board with the idea. It wasn’t that easy in the beginning.
No Doubt includes frontwoman Gwen, bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young. The news of Coachella has the band practicing hard. It’s been over a decade since their hiatus in 2013.
“It just happened so fast, and that’s my favorite kind of thing to happen. We haven’t really figured out the next steps of how we’re going to do this, but we’re all just so excited, “ Gwen Stefani told People. “And I think really just watching the internet below up [with] how excited the fans are? It’s inspiring us.”
The band last reunited for their 2012 album, Push and Shove. They had a mini reunion in 2015 where they played a few shows. The group went on their separate ways to focus on their solo careers. Fans can expect No Doubt to perform their hit songs “Don’t Speak,” “Ex-Girlfriend,” “Hey Baby,” “Just a Girl,” and “Spiderwebs.”
Gwen Stefani Responsible For No Doubt Reunion
According to a new report, Gwen Stefani is responsible for the No Doubt reunion. It’s what she’s been wanting to do for yeras.
Gwen also wants to pursue her own music career as her husband Blake Shelton heads out on tour. She teased that she’s releasing solo music this year.
“[Gwen] has been pushing hard for it,” an insider told Us Weekly.
However, her bandmates “hadn’t been into the idea” when she pushed for a reunion. She eventually persuaded them.
“Once the Coachella team heard they had been talking and reached out with the offer, it really solidified the reunion,” the source said. “The whole group has some ideas for new material and is open to a tour directly after [their] performance. Gwen is thrilled. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Gwen doesn’t want to do a world tour. She doesn’t like to “spend months and months at a time on the road.” Despite the criticism, No Doubt’s reunion is not a “cash grab.” It’s about attracting a new generation of fans.
