Gwyneth Paltrow Is “Pretty Much” Friends With All Her Exes: “I Don’t Want To Have Bad Blood”

This has nothing to do with the saying, “Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.” Trust me guys, the Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow is a peace-loving person who simply does not want “bad blood.”

In a recent question and answer session held by the actress, 50, in her Instagram story, a fan asked “Are you still friends with your exes?” And Paltrow answered “Pretty much. I really believe in conscious uncoupling,” she wrote, per Yahoo.” When you spend meaningful time with someone, it’s nice to have it morph into friendship. I don’t want to have bad blood with anyone, ever (if I can help it.)”

Where Gwyneth Paltrow Learnt The Words “Conscious Uncoupling”

The actress learned her now, two favorite words “conscious uncoupling” in 2014 during the time she was handling her divorce from her first marriage. Paltrow was married to Chris Martin who she shares children Apple Blythe, 18, and Moses, 16 with.

Paltrow heard the words from philosopher Dr. Habib Sadeghi and his wife Dr. Shahrzad. During a 2019 episode of “Armchair Expert” Paltrow explained the term “conscious uncoupling” as a “way to circumvent [pain of divorce] and go directly to the point where we’re friends, and we remember what we loved about each other, and constantly acknowledge that we created these incredible human beings together.”

Speaking of how she inculcated it in her relationship with her ex-husband as co-parents, she said, “We’re a family, that’s it,” she continued. “We can pretend we’re not, and hate each other… or, [we can] try to reinvent this for ourselves.”

After the star of “Seven” had divorced Chris Martin, she went on to date a fellow Oscar winner in the person of Ben Affleck, 50 (now married to Jennifer Lopez). Paltrow’s relationship with Ben wasn’t so stable. It was an on-again-off-again relationship.

The next hot star that the “Shakespeare in Love” actress dated was Brad Pitt, 59. Her relationship with Pitt lasted for as long as three years. Paltrow finally found love and got married to her now-husband Brad Falchuk, 51. The couple has been married since 2018.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s – Husband Isn’t Insecure

According to Paltrow, her husband Falchuk is very much aware that she’s still in close contact with her exes and he doesn’t mind at all.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” the actress said, “My husband is probably like the least judgmental, most secure man in our relationship, so I think he totally respects [the friendship].”

While, not everyone is cool with her choice of “conscious uncoupling,” one of the things Falchuk “probably likes about her is her belief in “conscious uncoupling.”

Paltrow said, “Whether you’re uncoupling with a coworker, a spouse, a boyfriend, I really do believe that if you’ve invested in somebody — and of course, there are exceptions — to amputate that relationship [shows that] maybe you’re not then fully letting the full lesson reveal itself and the healing happen.”

Continuing, she said, “So even though sometimes it can be uncomfortable, I think it’s nice to work through it and reconnect with the value that that person brought to your life.”
