Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey Bieber wants the controversy over her shirt reading “Nepo Baby” to stop. And so the supermodel, 26, tried to explain why she wore the shirt via Yahoo. “

My point to having worn the T-shirt was not to poke fun at it or be like, ‘Yeah I’m a nepo baby haha,’ type of a thing,” clarified the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin.

And instead, Hailey thought that the shirt seemed hilarious. She also wanted to share her awareness that “this is what everyone is saying. And I want you to know that this is my way of responding to it,” added Bieber. 

Because of her famous father, Hailey decided “to call myself a nepo baby. Because I am one,” she pointed out. “And I embrace that I am.” However, Bieber also expressed frustration over the backlash that she received. And the supermodel complained that she will always get criticism because “”nothing’s ever enough.”

Hailey Bieber – Feels That She Can’t Win ‘With The Internet’

The term “nepotism baby” (typically shortened to “nepo baby”) refers to those who enjoy famous family links, such as Hailey and her father Stephen Baldwin. For example, Lily Rose Depp benefited from her famous father, Johnny Depp. But to Hailey, the backlash over the term seems never-ending.

And Justin Bieber’s wife complained, “You’re going to sit there and call me a nepo baby all day long,” she said, referring to the social media backlash. “But then I acknowledge it and then I’m not enough of a nepo baby?” As a result, Hailey feels “there is never any winning with the internet. And that’s what I’ve always time and time again realized,” she added. 

Jamie Lee Curtis has offered her own thoughts on the use of the term “nepo baby.” And the actress dislikes the term. As the daughter of actress Janet Leigh and actor Tony Curtis, Jamie Lee feels that the term deliberately mocks those related to famous people. And she added, “The current conversation about nepo babies is just designed to try to diminish and denigrate and hurt.”
