Halle Bailey Shares Extra Special Moment With “Little Mermaid” Fan At Disney

We’re literally counting days to the May 26 premiere of Halle Bailey’s Little Mermaid,” but even then, fans are beginning to recognize her. As the 22-year-old was visiting the park for a special event with the Disney Dreamers Academy, she ran into a super fan who won’t let go. The happiest thing happened in the happiest place on Earth, fitting, isn’t it?

Halle Bailey – On “Little Mermaid” Fan Who Made Her Cry

On Thursday, Bailey misted the eyes of her Instagram fans with a beautiful video showing an ultra-sweet interaction she had with a fan at Disney World, Florida.

The video sees the “Grown-ish” star embracing a young fan who recognized her as the newest face of a live-action Disney Princess. “You’re so beautiful and sweet,” Bailey tells the fan.

“Met this beautiful baby Mila Rose who made me cry,” she captioned the video, which documented her trip to the theme park. “She just hugged me so tight.”

“You’re so pretty,” Bailey told the excited little girl. “Ariel’s her favorite,” someone off camera said.

The video also sees Bailey ask for the fan’s name. “Really? You’re so beautiful and sweet, what’s her name? Mila?” Bailey said in the video. “So sweet. Mila, do you want to smile for the camera? Take a picture?”

The sweet video comes just a few days after Halle Bailey addressed some of the racist messages she’s been receiving since it was announced in August 2019 that she’ll play Ariel in “The Little Mermaid’s” live-adaptation. Most of Disney’s fans apparently weren’t happy that a person of color is playing the red-headed mermaid onscreen, but this isn’t the first time that Disney has drastically changed a script – remember Maleficent went from being a villain to becoming the hero and Mushu, the talkative dragon from Mulan, was transformed into a phoenix in the animated movie’s life-adaptation. So, let it go folks.

“The Little Mermaid” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 26.
