Harrison Ford Decided to Join The MCU, What We Know! Some have said they joined the MCU because if Marvel calls, you’ve got to say yes, but after decades of having a successful film career, why is Harrison Ford finally heading to the MCU?

Just a quick recap: the MCU has drawn from great actors such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson to name a few.

Now, they’ve also managed to snag the ‘Indiana Jones’ star for what will undoubtedly be an epic showdown. Oh, and by the way, Ryan Reynolds thinks he saved the MCU with ‘Deadpool and Wolverine.’

Harrison Ford – Teases Upcoming MCU Debut: “Kick Ass”

At least three Marvel projects are currently lined up for release in 2025 – four if ‘Blade’ can be able to squeeze in a release date later in the year.

The first movie arriving from the studio is ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ which will become the fourth film in the ‘Captain America’ franchise. It will also become the first feature that will see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson in the lead, after the character made his big debut in the series.

The big surprise for fans will be in the form of Harrison Ford taking on the role of U.S. General turned U.S. President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, which he takes over from the late William Hurt.

Later in the year, he will reprise his role again in ‘Thunderbolts’ movie. When asked what inspired him to join the franchise by The Official Marvel Podcast, he mentioned his awe of knowing that a brilliant list of stars have already joined the universe.

“I had watched other actors, brilliant actors have a wonderful time. I’m not a brilliant actor, but I thought I might have a good time. I’m delighted by what we’ve done. The movie’s gonna… kick ass.
In another interview with Variety, the star revealed he didn’t take the role for the money, even though most fans think it’s the primary motive behind the decision.

“What did it take? It took not caring,” he said. “It took being an idiot for money, which I’ve done before. I don’t mean to disparage it. I’m just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother would not want you to do — or your acting coach, if you had one. But it’s fun, and I enjoyed it. I had a great time, and I’m delighted at the response that we got with the trailer.”

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ premieres in theaters on Feb. 14, 2025, with Ford set to be one of the main antagonists.
