Here’s Why Lili Reinhart Thinks She Won’t Be Invited Back To The Met Gala

Lili Reinhart thinks she has canceled her 2023 Met Gala invite with her mouth. As it stands now, if Lili gets an invite to the fashion’s biggest night she’ll be surprised.

This year’s 2022 Met Gala had Lili calling out Kim Kardashian after hearing firsthand the tactic Kim used to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress. The SKIMS founder revealed that it took her 13 weeks to lose 16 pounds just to fit into one of the legendary Marilyn Monroe’s gowns. The gown in question was designed by Bob Mackie and worn by Marilyn the day she sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy, in the year 1962.

Kim said she achieved her fast weight loss by completely staying off carbs and sugar. While Kim said she didn’t starve herself of food, she revealed that she was strict with herself by making sure she ate Vegies, and proteins, and run on a treadmill.

“I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein” said Kim.

Not minding that Kim said she didn’t have to starve herself to achieve her desired weight loss, Lili still found that act from Kim as a toxic behavior. According to Lili, starving oneself just to fit into a cloth is a dumb move.

Taking to her Instagram story on May 3, a day after Met Gala, Lili wrote: “To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are … because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month … all to fit in a f–king dress? So wrong. So f–ked on 100s of levels.”

Even though Lili didn’t mention Kim by name when she made those posts, it was obvious the “Look Both Ways” actress was referring to Kim when she said “To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting.”

Lili didn’t stop her call out there. The next day, Lili resumed from where she stopped, saying that she would keep calling out celebrities who exhibit toxic behaviors “because I don’t see enough people with large platforms calling out toxic behavior in our industry.”

Lili Reinhart — Lili Stands By Her Words

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Lili told W Magazine in an interview that, even though she found her callout fun, “after going again this year, I don’t think I’ll be invited back. I said a certain something about a certain person in a certain dress.”

When asked if she feels bad for what she said, Lili replied in the negative, stating that she stands by her words and regrets nothing. “I have always wanted to stand for something, and while I don’t like it if one comment by me turns into 17 articles … I never overthink what I post. It has to be a true representation of how I feel. And I would say that whether I had 100 followers or 100 million.”
