Iron Man To Reportedly Return To Future “Avengers” Movies Despite Dying In “Endgame”

These days, with superhero movies, you really can’t tell who really died and who didn’t. This is why most fans now treat the death of a superhero with skepticism: he/she is dead as long as they don’t come back to life.

I mean, we had such a sweet tribute to Iron Man during Spider-Man’s “Far From Home”, and now he’s supposedly returning for more amazing adventures? Anyway, Iron Man’s not the first superhero/supervillain to surprise us with their return, and he certainly won’t be the last.

Marvel Updates Announces Robert Downey Jr.’s Return To the MCU In the Upcoming “Avengers: Secret Wars”

When Iron Man died, it was a hard pill for many Marvel fans to swallow – I don’t want to brag but I did see it coming as early as “Infinity Wars”. Why? Marvel had a thing against happy endings and Iron Man was getting too happy for their liking.

Now, as the days of Avengers’ two-part project draws nearer, there’s a couple of leaks in the cracks that say Robert Downey Jr’.s Iron Man is definitely returning. However, we can’t say for sure as the movie is still in its earliest stages of development – to the extent it doesn’t even have a director yet.

Iron Man To Reportedly Return To Future “Avengers” Movies Despite Dying In “Endgame”

A few returning superheroes have been confirmed by Marvel, but many others are still under wraps.

But since Robert Downey Jr.’s “Iron Man” premiered in 2008, it has garnered a massive audience and mostly kept them on for all three parts of the billionaire-genius-turned-superhero franchise.

But while he did have a long and graceful run, I don’t think anyone would object to having him back in the future – I certainly won’t.

The first platform to announce the news of his return was @MyTimeToShineHello. “RDJ is back baby (for Secret Wars for sure, and there’s been some talks for a cameo in Armor Wars),” they wrote.

Other platforms corroborated the news including @Spideysupdates and Ember.

“The Secret Wars” will be the second of the upcoming two-part team up event in the MCU.

What Robert Downey Jr. Says About A Possible Return

Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience, the “Oppenheimer” star opened up about his future in the MCU following his character’s death.

“To me, starting up again is off the table. I feel like I’ve done all I could with that character,” he said. “There would have to be a super compelling argument and a series of events that made it obvious. But the other thing is, I wanna do other stuff.”

Even though his response wasn’t promising, there’s still hope he’ll be asked to return because Iron Man appeared in the original 1984 version of “Secret Wars” and even in its 2015 version.
