Is Abby Lee Miller, okay? This is the question in many fans’ minds after a rumor began circulating online that the former Dance Moms star had passed away.

Rumors over Abby Lee Miller’s passing began to make the rounds on the morning of Wednesday, July 17, 2024. This is because of a tweet sent out from the Lifetime reality-TV star’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

It didn’t seem that far-fetched that Abby could’ve passed away, considering she has had health issues in recent years, as well as cancer.

The tweet had hashtags #BreakingNews #RIP with a photo of Miller wiping a tear from her face. While fans flooded the page in worry, everyone quickly realized that it was probably a hoax.

After all, the third-party link embedded within the post took users to a page filled with celebrities who had passed. The silver lining in this all was that Abby Lee Miller was missing from the list.

What Happened?

It’s unclear how or why the tweet was posted on Miller’s account. There’s a chance it was a hack or Abby was looking to earn extra money via the number of clicks to the link.

Either way, fans weren’t pleased with the swerve. Especially in light of the recent passings of Shannon Doherty, Jacoby Jones, and Richard Simmons.

Some fan comments on the X post included:

• “My heart dropped why Abby whyyyyy”
• “ABBY I THOUGHT U DIED”
• “wtf is this? After all the deaths this weekend? Gross.”
• “Abby omg don’t scare me like that I thought you died”

The “death” tweet is off the cusp of another online controversy Miller has recently faced. This past June, former Dance Moms co-star, Christi Lukasiak was involved in a DUI car crash. Of course, Christi also happens to be someone Miller clashed with on the reality television show.

Several users on X wanted Abby to address the collision incident, as she’s never really been one to shy away from sharing her feelings on various topics in the past.

Still, despite the social media scandals the good news is that Miller seems to be okay, and will likely go back to her online activities, soon.
