The report which surfaces on June 27 read: “Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” a source told PopTopic close to four years after the actor parted ways with Disney. “They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”
Is Johnny Depp A Man Of His Words?
Looks like the Alice in Wonderland alum is a man of his words as his rep didn’t waste time in debunking the rumors stating clearly that “This is made up.”
This is so hilarious because I recall Amber Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn asking Depp during his defamation trial if Depp would consider returning to the franchise if he was offered $300 million, to which Depp strongly refused.
“The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?” Depp replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”
I think the story of Depp returning after being offered $301 million is to say that since Depp won’t return at the price of $300 million, perhaps he would return at $301 million, hahahaha.
Johnny Depp – Has Moved On To A New Path
Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow in all five movies, the latest one being the 2017 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Not only did the Alice in Wonderland alum previously mention that he was not eager to don his pirate boots again, but back in May, Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who is now working on two more films, was asked if Depp would be back for future projects. “Not at this point,” he told The Sunday Times. “The future is yet to be decided.”
Following his contentious defamation case against former wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has been steadily lining up new projects. He’s set to play King Louis XV in Jeanne Du Barry, and he’s also circling a musical venture with guitarist Jeff Beck.
