Jada Pinkett Smith Celebrates Bald Is Beautiful Day On Instagram
Turning to Instagram, Jada Pinkett Smith shared her belief that bald can be beautiful. But rather than respond immediately to Chris Rock’s comments at the Oscars about her hair, Jada waited until Bald Is Beautiful Day. And on Tuesday, the 50-year-old actress shared her photo and a carefully worded caption, noted Page Six.
“Happy Bald is Beautiful day to all my brothers and sisters with no hair❣️❣️❣️,” wrote Jada in her caption. The message referred to Pinkett Smith’s struggles with an autoimmune disease causing hair loss. But Pinkett Smith previously shared her initial terror on her Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk.

“I’ve been having issues with hair loss,” recalled the actress. “It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my God, am I going bald?’ It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear.”
However, Chris has said that he made the Oscars joke about Pinkett Smith starring as G.I. Jane 2 without knowing about her condition. As a result, Rock reportedly felt shocked and bewildered when Will suddenly walked up to the stage to slap him. And after that slap, Smith yelled at the comedian from his seat to leave his wife alone.
Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Going Bald, Chris Rock, And Will Smith
Ever since Pinkett Smith got diagnosed, she has tried various ways to cope with her condition. For instance, Jada even tried steroid shots to get her hair to grow back. However, the actress finally found a way to make peace with her appearance.
And in December 2021, Pinkett Smith got inspiration from her daughter Willow Smith. After admiring Willow for shaving her own head, Jada followed her lead. And she shared, “Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something.”
However, even as Jada seeks to speak out about her condition, she also shared her hope for the future. And Pinkett Smith referenced the aftermath of the Oscars slap seen around the world. As she looks ahead, Jada hopes “these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.”
