Following Corrine Foxx’s revelation that her father Jamie Foxx has been home for weeks since his medical emergency, the father and daughter announced that they’re putting together a new TV show titled “We Are Family.”
On Monday, FOX network announced that its upcoming music competition series “We Are Family” will be hosted by both Jamie and Corrine. The show is set to debut next year, 2024.
Sharing their latest TV gig, the father-daughter duo announced in a joint statement, “We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam.”
The statement continued, “We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”
The show “We Are Family” will be featuring celebrities with their non-famous family members rendering duets with their famous family members {who would be hidden).
The show will have 100 contestants trying to guess correctly who the unknown celebrities are, for the prize of $100,000. Participating stars will range from musicians, to professional athletes, to actors and beyond.

On Wednesday, April 12, Corrine, 29, took to her Instagram to break her dad’s medical news to the world, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.”
Following Jamie’s hospitalization, his friend Nick Cannon was tapped to fill in for Jamie as the guest host for Jamie’s music game show cBeat Shazam” during its sixth season.
Three weeks after the “Spiderman: No Way Home” actor’s daughter Corrine made the unexpected announcement that her dad suffered a medical emergency, the actor spoke up.
Jamie who was filled with gratitude to his fans and well-wishers for all their love and support didn’t hide his feelings at all. He took to his Instagram account on Wednesday, May 3, to post, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
In that same post, Jamie, 55, didn’t fail to “appreciate” his friend Nick Cannon for filling in for him on his “Fox show Beat Shazam,” to Nick he said, “Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon see u all soon.”

A month after the world got to hear that the “Project Power” actor Jamie Fox suffered a medical emergency, on Friday, May 12, Corrine came back to her Instagram account to shut down rumors from media outlets that blew the story out of proportion.
A media outlet published an article that points toward all hope being lost for the actor’s recovery. Corinne posted a screenshot of a news headline that read: “JAMIE FOXX’S LOVED ONES REPORTEDLY PREPARING FOR THE WORST.”
Underneath the screenshot, Corrine wrote, “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she went ahead to add, “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
